Carlton Outdoor Education Centre meets the Gold standard
	Carlton OEC has been successful over the past two years at achieving the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality badge award. When the award was due for renewal, we took the decision to undertake the Association of Heads of Outdoor Education Centres Gold standard version.
The AHOEC GOLD STANDARD is a quality assurance scheme that builds on both the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality (LOtC) Badge and the AHOEC Code of Practice. It exceeds the benchmark set by the LOtC Badging scheme and provides clients and Centres with a scheme that not only addresses the issue of safety but the delivery of a client focussed quality experience. The GOLD STANDARD looks at and assesses the quality of service from initial enquiry, through the booking process and the quality of the whole experience for young people. Carlton OEC also holds a licence from the Adventure Activities Licensing Service (AALS) awarded by the Health & Safety Executive, as well as the Adventuremark which applies to all adventure activities and to all age groups in England, Scotland and Wales.
